Moving from Singapore to Athens at 59: A New Way to See City Life

Silk House – A 1930s Neoclassical Residence in Metaxourgeio, Athens
Silk House is the third residence in The Halo Collection, a lovingly restored 1930s neoclassical home in Metaxourgeio, Athens. I'm incredibly happy to share it, as it preserves its original architectural style while offering a cinematic, heritage home.
Spanning 230 square metres across two levels, this luxury Athens residence comfortably accommodates families, couples, and small groups in three elegantly appointed bedrooms. The main level features high ceilings with original details, a chandelier-lit living room, a spacious master bedroom, and a fully equipped kitchen and dining area. There is also a separate, comprehensive laundry room.
One of my favourite features? The main bathroom is hidden behind a secret door. I’ve left guests a playful riddle: "Not every door is plain to see. Look behind the shelf for a little privacy."
On the lower ground level, you’ll find two signature bedrooms, each with its own unique design; a modern botanical-style bathroom with a rain shower; and a second compact kitchen.
Step outside to discover an enclosed courtyard featuring a connecting iron spiral staircase, a private heated plunge pool, seating, and an outdoor kitchen. A true rarity for a premium stay in Athens, this space provides an intimate space to relax in the city.
Silk House is a refined heritage property that honours its past while combining contemporary living. The interior design blends neoclassical elegance with modernist simplicity. I’ve built on this by decorating walls and shelves with pop-art portraits, vintage travel posters, and old photographs.
Located in Metaxourgeio, Silk House is just minutes from Monastiraki, the Acropolis, art spaces, galleries, and neighbourhood tavernas. A wonderful base for exploring Athens.
Silk House is now available for booking. I would love for you to experience it.
